Delta Sigma Biennium Goals 2022-2024
Goal 1: To support to the best of our abilities the goals and programs of NC DKG and Delta Kappa Gamma International through our committee work and programs
● Sponsor funding for the following areas: NC DKG Scholarship fund, Pauline Longest Leadership Fund, DKG Scholarship, International Speaker Fund, Golden Gift, Emergency Fund, NC DKG Education Foundation, World Fellowship and Schools for Africa
● Provide programming that informs our members on important issues in education and our world
● Support attendance and involvement at NC DKG and Delta Kappa Gamma International events and conventions
Goal 2: To vigorously advocate legislation that supports public education and educators
● Stay abreast of current legislation that is being proposed at the state and national level through distribution of timely information
● Contact our state and federal representatives to support educational issues as a voice through DKG
● Participate in identifying legislative priorities through purposeful discussions and high completion of survey
Goal 3: To strengthen and deepen the sense of fellowship among our members
● Include “Get to Know You” activities during each of our meetings where members are grouped into small groups for discussion and sharing
● Share communication with membership regarding celebrations and losses so we members can show support for each other
● Work side by side in hands-on active chapter projects to accomplish goals collaboratively (Fundraising efforts, Fashion Show event, Tour of Homes Hosting, Adult Angel Tree, etc.) Hold Sister-Sister bonding activities on non-meeting months.
Goal 4: To support and nurture beginning teachers and future educators in Lincoln County Schools
● Hold fundraising event(s) to raise funds for $1,000 scholarships to be given to graduating seniors attending college to enter the field of education and “The Buzzing BEE” (award for first year teacher)
● Provide all first year teachers in Lincoln County Schools encouragement through a small gift and card each nine weeks during the year
● Serve as a panel for beginning teachers meeting to offer support, advice, and network with new teachers in Lincoln County
